VGO PROMO / COOKIE POLICY (EU)
We distinguish essential site functions from optional analytics, advertising, embedded content and referral technologies.
What cookies and similar tools do
Cookies and browser storage can keep website preferences, protect forms, measure use and assist with campaigns. Similar identifiers may be used in links, embedded widgets or pixels. Some technologies are set by this site; others are set by independent service providers.
Main categories
| Category | Purpose and consent approach |
|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security controls, essential page functions and remembering privacy choices; no separate consent where a narrow legal exemption genuinely applies. |
| Preferences | Remember optional interface choices; consent may be required depending on the technology and purpose. |
| Analytics | Measure visitor behaviour and site performance; non-exempt tracking requires appropriate prior consent. |
| Advertising and affiliate measurement | Attribute campaigns, track qualifying referrals or personalise advertising; non-essential technologies require consent where applicable. |
| Embedded services | Videos, social elements, forms or other third-party content may set cookies; block non-essential trackers until valid consent when required. |
Consent is a real choice
Under applicable EU rules, optional cookies should not be set until the required valid consent is obtained. Where a consent interface is used, visitors should be able to refuse non-essential categories and later change or withdraw their choice without unnecessary difficulty.
Simply visiting the site or continuing to scroll does not itself amount to a valid blanket consent for optional tracking. Browser controls can also delete cookies but are not a substitute for a required consent interface.
Which services might be involved
The website runs on WordPress and its published notices identify Google Analytics as a measurement service. Features such as comment forms, newsletter sign-ups, third-party video embeds and advertising/referral programmes may involve cookies or similar identifiers when enabled. Individual cookies and retention periods depend on the particular integration and your consent settings.
Following an affiliate link may take you to an independent operator. That operator may use its own tracking, security or account cookies under its own policy.
How to manage preferences
Use the site’s cookie preferences control, when displayed, to review or change optional choices. You may also clear cookies or restrict third-party storage using your browser; these browser actions do not replace a consent choice that the website is required to provide. If you cannot find a working preference control, please contact us so the issue can be investigated.
Newsletter subscriptions are managed separately: use the unsubscribe link in a promotional email to stop that mailing list.
